Drew A. Lambert, MBA
Principal - DJR Cos. & DJR Eng.
Broker - DJr Realty, Inc.
Drew’s experience in real estate development provides DJR with diversified expertise across various sectors of the industry. His entrepreneurial, strategic thinking paired with specialized market and project financial analyses is a key differentiating asset to the team.
Drew’s analytical approach produces accurate economic studies that inform decision making to maximize top line revenue (value) and bottom line profitability (cost effectiveness weighed with risk) of each project, skills applicable across asset classes.
Drew is also a licensed broker (DRE# 01884073), President and CEO of DJR Realty, Inc. (DRE# 019689921); representing DJR Companies on most acquisitions and sales, as well as a variety of other real estate transactions including individual homebuyers, sellers, and investors.
Drew emphasized entrepreneurship and business strategy as he completed his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at the Fermanian School of Business at Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU), where the education is about more than the bottom line. His thesis, The Democratization of Real Estate Investment, focused on the feasibility of an equity crowdfunding model for small to medium sized real estate developments, and is publicly available at PLNU’s Ryan Library or for download.*
Drew earned his undergraduate degrees from the University of California, San Diego where he made the Dean’s List while double majoring in three years, earning both a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics (emphasis in Business/Finance) and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Biology. After completing his undergraduate studies, working another summer season as an ocean lifeguard, and backpacking through his cultural roots in Europe for 5 weeks; he worked in financial planning ever so briefly before deciding to join with his father’s engineering and development firm (A. Lambert & Associates) as an assistant project manager.
Not long thereafter, the father/son team formed DJR Companies.
Drew thrives on innate leadership and entrepreneurial skills groomed in his youth as an Eagle Scout and leader in his athletic and academic endeavors (his National Ocean Sciences Bowl team placed 4th at national tournaments in Providence, RI and 7th in La Jolla, CA in consecutive years as a teenager), further refined in his adult professional life.
He insists on doing business in accordance with a value system in which integrity and building relationships are paramount. Drew believes in his responsibility as a steward of our sustainable environment, while at the same time being a creator of ethically defensible environments for the community, partners, and clients.
His years as a surfer and ocean lifeguard for the Solana Beach Department of Marine Safety have promoted this vision. Drew is an alumnus member of the United States Lifesaving Association and was previously president of the Solana Beach Lifeguard Association.
Drew’s background brings innovation, creativity, an unwavering degree of ethics and responsibility, and a fresh outlook to the business of real estate development in today’s rapidly changing economy, an approach from which DJR’s community, clients, and partners greatly benefit.
On a personal note, Drew enjoys surfing, snowboarding, mountain biking, baseball (in recent years playing with a local church’s competitive baseball ministry), and reading or listening to podcasts regarding history, political and economic philosophy, and apologetics. He is married to the beautiful Megan Lambert, father to the blessings that are their sons, and attempts to capture beautiful moments through photography of their “adventures” and travels (drewanthon.com). A number of the photos on this site are from his travels.
Drew has also served on the Board of Directors for Friends of Portugal, whose mission it is to transform communities of ordinary Portuguese people who are facing many systemic, structural, and economic challenges through entrepreneurial micro-enterprises as well as fostering relationships through business and cultural trips to and from Portugal. Drew was an originator of the business plan for one of FOP’s first projects in 2011 during a European study trip, as an MBA project while studying at Point Loma Nazarene University.
* Drew’s had the honor of writing his thesis with Dr. Lynn Reaser as his adviser.
